History of Grace Bible Church

In April 1998 a small Bible study was started by a missionary couple, Jack and Jan Becker, who saw the need for more Biblical teaching in the community. The Beckers never intended for the Bible study to become a church but after some growth they started having Sunday services at the Good Samariatan Auditorium in January of 1999. During the next couple years this Bible study would transform into Grace Bible Church and affiliate itself with the Bible Fellowship Denomination based out of Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Sometime during the next few years the Becker's felt the Lord calling them to pursue missions in Northern Colorado. They followed this call and in December 2003 the church voted on Tom Morrison, a former missionary to Spain, to be their second pastor. At the same time, Grace became a mission church of the BFC. crosses Under Pastor Tom's leadership, the church moved multiple times until finding a permanent home in the Bonita Plaza on Missouri Avenue. Grace also had the opportunity of graduating from a "mission church" to a "particular church" (self sustaining church). After serving for close to five years, Pastor Tom resigned from the church in October of 2009 to pursue other ministries.

In January 2010 Grace officially welcomed their new interim Pastor, Josh Allen, who was voted in as Pastor officially in October of 2011. Before moving to Las Cruces, Pastor Josh was ministering as a Youth Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Bedford, Virginia while attending Seminary at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia. Josh served the church as pastor for four years. In February 2014 Pastor Josh was in an automobile crash that took his life.

In November 2014 the church called Ethan Hester, who had served as pastoral intern for the past year and a half, to be the church's interim pastor. After being chosen to be full time pastor, Ethan served as pastor until April 2, 2018.

As of July 22, 2018 we have been blessed to have David Poland serving as pastor.
